It would be nice if they made the functionality as transparent as Google Docs. It adds a lot of blocks that you have to remove later. MS Word added online collaborative functionality to try and match Google Docs some time ago, but I find it doesn’t work very well. I find working in Word not as productive as other programs and I tend to write first in Google Docs and then transfer to Word for formatting and submission. Finding simple common functions can be difficult and I waste a lot of time looking for features.

MS Word is full featured, in fact, for me it’s too full featured. The funny thing is that they don’t want me to do much formatting, since they redo most of it when typesetting the book, but that’s the world we live in.
